I know it’s difficult to find a cosy place in a good location that feels like home, especially if you’re new to the city.
My husband and I have visited Lisbon a few times, but this was our first time staying in a Bleisured apartment.
Bleisured hosted us at their Academia Patio apartment for three days. I was genuinely in love with it, even though I had no idea what to expect.
It felt like someone gave us a cute, fully furnished apartment in a great location and said, “Here’s your home—no stress, no admin, just enjoy.” And I’m glad we tried it.
If you’re coming to Lisbon for work, thinking about moving, or just want a break, Bleisured Apartments are a great way to relax and feel at home and are worth a closer look.

Bleisured Overview and Who It Is For
If you’re relocating to Lisbon or staying for a few months, Bleisured might be just what you’re looking for.
They offer various services, including property management in Lisbon and short-stay rental options for cosy, move-in-ready apartments like the Academia Patio Apartment.
Which is ideal if you’re seeking more comfort than a hotel or you are just tired of dragging your suitcase into soulless studio flats that come with a hefty price tag.
Think of it as a “home for now” with everything you need, minus the landlord drama.
Here’s what makes Bleisured special:
- Great for travellers who need a short-term home
If you’re an expat, remote worker, or digital nomad who wants to rent for less than 12 months but more than one month, you’ll love their flexible 1–6 month leases.
You don’t need to buy furniture, set up WiFi, or chase utility bills. Just bring your suitcase and maybe a favourite mug if you’re anything like me (true story, I brought my thermal cup with me while we scouted Portugal). 😅
- Ideal for homeowners who want to earn with zero hassle
If you have an empty apartment in Lisbon, Bleisured manages it for you—no guests calling you at midnight about a leaky tap. They take care of everything: marketing, cleaning, and bookings. You earn passive income without lifting a finger.
- No long-term commitment, all the comfort
Maybe you’re testing out Lisbon before making the big move. Bleisured lets you live like a local while keeping your options open. It’s like dating the city before putting a ring on it.
- Each apartment is fully equipped and uniquely designed
The Academia Patio Apartment, for example, has a modern, well-equipped kitchen (more on that later), a comfy bed, fast WiFi, and a cute patio. It’s quiet but central, so you can nap and explore. It’s got everything you need.

Our Memorable Stay at the Academia Patio Apartment
When we arrived in Lisbon late in the afternoon, we headed straight to Bleisured’s Academia Patio Apartment, which is tucked away in one of Lisbon’s best areas—central and surprisingly peaceful.
It took us about a 10-minute taxi ride from Santa Apolonia train station to the apartment. The apartment is located right on the edge of Bairro Alto, just a short walk from Principe Real, and many important city attractions are easily accessible.
To be honest, the building and entrance look pretty basic from the outside, but at first glance, you cannot really tell that there’s a charming, cosy apartment with a huge patio inside.

A Pleasant Welcome & Amazing Communication
One thing I noticed right away? Bleisured doesn’t just hand over keys—they actually make you feel at home from the start.
From the moment our taxi pulled up outside the building and we met with one of their staff members, the experience felt genuinely warm, personal, and stress-free.
Here’s what stood out:
- A friendly face to greet you
We were met by José, one of Bleisured’s property managers, who greeted us like old friends. There were no awkward check-in lines or key boxes to deal with. José greeted us with a smile and a warm welcome. Honestly, after a long train ride, it felt like a hug—without the hugging.
- They actually talk to you
From the start, communication was really easy. When our stay was confirmed, Simon (one of the Bleisured co-founders) answered all my questions quickly and clearly. Even during our visit, we were added to their guest WhatsApp group so we could message them anytime if we needed help. It felt like we were talking to real people, not a robot. Overall, communication was fast and friendly.

- A surprising space behind the door
The exterior of the building and even the interior’s main entrance: Quiet and simple. But once José led us down to where the apartment is—it was like stepping into a secret little hideaway. It featured a delightful blend of antique charm and sleek modern style that made me say, almost in disbelief, “Wow, it looks exactly like in the pictures online.” The Academia Patio Apartment sits tucked away, almost hidden. It’s quiet, cool, and full of personality.

A Quiet Yet Convenient Location
If you’re moving to Lisbon or staying a few months, location matters—a lot.
Academia Patio Apartment hits the sweet spot: right in the middle of the action, but somehow still peaceful.
Here’s why the location works so well:
- You’re close to everything, but not in everything
The apartment sits right between Bairro Alto and Principe Real—two of Lisbon’s most loved neighbourhoods. You’re close to everything—like, really close. In under 10 minutes, we walked to cafes, supermarkets, a metro station, and even a charming little Green Street that has many adorable cafes. Green Street is the perfect spot if you want to get out of bed and enjoy some pastries and coffee in a charming, quirky street before your morning Zoom call.
- Easy to get around without a car
Public transport? Public transport is conveniently located just a short walk away. We walked to buses, the metro, and even tuk-tuks—if that’s your thing. Supermarkets, cafes, and corner shops are nearby, so you won’t starve or go without toothpaste.

- Ideal for remote work or slow travel
The street is quiet and calm: no loud bars or honking cars right outside your window. So you get the charm and buzz of the city without the noise that keeps you up at 2 a.m. If you’re working from “home,” you’ll actually get stuff done. My partner confirmed being more productive during our stay at Academia Patio Apartment. Perhaps his increased productivity was also due to the wonderful, comfy work setup chair in the apartment, which he loved and actually asked Simon where it was bought so he could buy one for himself. And yes, there’s a solid WiFi signal for all your Zoom calls.
- Perfect base for exploring Lisbon
Walk for 10 minutes, and you’re in a trendy neighbourhood full of shops and food. Walk 15, and you’re on a hilltop with a killer view. It’s the kind of spot that makes you feel like a local—fast.
The apartment sits in a private, gated courtyard, despite its proximity to nightlife and busy streets. That means no traffic noise, no shouting tourists—just birds chirping. It felt like a secret spot in the middle of it all.
If you’re staying in Lisbon for a few weeks, location matters. You want somewhere that’s both practical and peaceful. Academia Patio ticks both boxes without trying too hard.
Apartment Features: Our Spacious Home Away From Home
The Bleisured Academia Patio Apartment not only provides a comfortable place to stay but also evokes a sense of home.
It’s got space, style, and all the things that make daily life easier when you’re staying for more than a weekend.
Here’s what we loved about the apartment:

- Fully furnished and ready for living
The entire apartment was beautifully designed, from the cosy couches in the living room to a mix of antique and minimalist aesthetics throughout. Overall the furniture was comfy and stylish—no wobbly chairs or mystery stains here. The bed? Spacious—a thing I very much appreciate and always makes my partner wonder why I need a big bed as a petite girl—soft, and perfect after a long day walking Lisbon hills. You could easily unpack and feel settled on day one.
- The kitchen had everything—even clothing pegs
Whether you enjoy cooking like me (but not every night) or just microwave leftovers (no judgement, we do that too sometimes), the kitchen in this Academia Patio Apartment has got you covered. We had pans, plates, glasses, and even wine openers. We cooked pasta, sausages, and salad, and one time we burnt some toast (oops). It got a bit smoky that José came to check on us—he thought we had left something on and weren’t in the apartment. Just so you know, the Bleisured office is right above the apartment, so that’s how José saw the smoke.

- Move-in ready with no fuss
The apartment was equipped with an abundance of clean towels and fresh linens, a feature I particularly appreciate during our travels, especially since my partner frequently forgets to hang towels and I have a meticulous nature. There’s even a small designated work setup area with strong WiFi already set up for our arrival, so if you’re working remotely, you won’t have to stress over signal bars.
- Extra perks that made life easier
The patio was our little outdoor escape—great for morning coffee or evening chats. The patio had a small garden table with two seats, relaxing sunbeds (which we hardly used), and even an outdoor barbeque stand. I also loved that the apartment had a washing machine (with washing powder and fabric conditioner), a smart TV, and heating/cooling for all seasons. Self-check-in is available, making check-in easy even if you land at midnight (though we did not need it for our arrival).
Who is Bleisured Academia Patio Apartment For
The Academia Patio apartment is perfect for a lot of different travellers. Whether you’re solo, a couple, or a remote worker hopping around Europe, this place fits.
It’s private, peaceful, and has a space to spread out. If you’re staying a month or more, you’ll be glad you chose comfort.
Is It Worth It? Pros, Cons & Value for Money
So, let’s talk honestly—is the Bleisured Academia Patio Apartment worth booking if you’re moving to Lisbon or planning an extended stay?
For our trip, we were kindly hosted by Bleisured, so we stayed here on a complimentary basis. But I still looked at this stay with my budget-traveller hat on. And here’s how it compares.
- It’s better value than many mid-term rentals
When I compared this to places on Blueground, Bleisured came out cheaper for the same kind of quality. You still get stylish furniture, fast WiFi, and a central location—without the fancy price tag. For a few weeks or months, it’s a smart choice.
- What we loved most
It felt incredibly private and peaceful, even though it was so centrally located. The apartment was spacious and beautifully designed, with everything we needed to live, work, and relax. The hosts were quick to respond and genuinely cared that we felt comfortable.
- Some things to consider
Natural light is limited, especially since the apartment is on the lower ground floor. The Bleisured office is right above the apartment, which didn’t bother us—but some guests might feel it’s too close. There are also stairs down to the flat, so it might not be ideal for people with mobility issues.
- Who this apartment is best for
This apartment is ideal for individuals travelling alone, couples, or digital nomads seeking a temporary residence in Lisbon. If you prefer quiet spaces with a unique personality, this one’s for you. But if you need sunshine pouring in or want a big view—maybe look elsewhere.
FAQs About Bleisured Apartments
Can I book a Bleisured Apartment on a normal booking site like booking[dot]com?
No, Bleisured apartments currently are not listed on all the big travel sites, like Booking.com; they potentially will be in the near future. But you can find their Airbnb listings here. However, I would recommend booking directly through their website. This helps them give better service and more flexible rental options.
Does Bleisured offer furnished rental apartments all over Portugal?
Right now, Bleisured focuses mostly on apartments in Lisbon. They might grow in the future, but Lisbon is where they shine. So if you’re moving to Lisbon or staying a while, they’re a great option.

Their Academia Patio Apartment gave us a cosy, quiet home in the middle of the city.
